Read the verification details

Miso ramen was born in Sapporo, and Ichiryuan lets almost everyone try it: a halal miso ramen on the regular menu (no reservation needed) and a fully plant-based vegan miso ramen (reservation required) — two minutes’ walk from Sapporo Station. For travelers landing in Hokkaido with dietary requirements, this is the easiest first meal in the city.

What We Verified

  • Halal miso ramen (¥2,000), always available — the official menu page marks it “Halal: no pork, no alcohol.” No reservation needed. Checked July 5, 2026.
  • Vegan miso ramen “soystake” (¥2,500), reservation required — noodles, soup, and toppings all free of animal ingredients per the official menu; renewed spring 2025.
  • Self-declared Muslim-friendly — the shop calls itself a Muslim-friendly restaurant; there is no third-party certification, which is why our label is Muslim-Friendly rather than Certified Halal.
  • Location — B1F Hokuren Bldg., directly above Sapporo Subway Station, 2 min from JR Sapporo Sta. south exit.

What We Could Not Confirm

  • Regular closing days (not listed on the official site).
  • Whether halal dishes are cooked on separated equipment.
  • An older report of a no-reservation ¥1,300 vegan ramen — not on the current official menu; assume the reservation-only soystake.

What to Order

The halal miso ramen (¥2,000) if you’re Muslim; the soystake vegan miso ramen (¥2,500, book ahead via LINE or phone) if you’re plant-based. A reservation-only halal seasonal seafood shio ramen (¥2,000) also appears on the menu.

The Two-Tier Menu

Ichiryuan is unusual in that it runs two dietary-restriction offers with different economics under one roof. The halal miso ramen is on the regular menu at ¥2,000, available whenever the shop is open, no reservation needed — you walk in like any other customer and order it. The vegan miso ramen (“soystake”) is at ¥2,500 with reservation required, produced separately, treated more like a small event than a menu item. This two-tier structure is the shop’s practical answer to the fact that halal-oriented and vegan-oriented traveler flows behave differently — halal travelers often plan around finding a shop quickly, vegan travelers often plan around a specific occasion — and Ichiryuan has separated its operational overhead accordingly. Being two minutes from Sapporo Station means the halal side of the menu is the natural first-meal-in-Hokkaido option for Muslim arrivals. The vegan side is for the visit you booked three days ahead.
