About

Can I Eat Japan? answers one question for travelers with dietary restrictions: “Can I eat this?”

We list halal, vegetarian, and vegan-friendly restaurants across Japan — starting with Tokyo and Osaka, expanding to Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Nagoya. Every listing is checked against primary sources (official certification lists, the restaurant’s own website or social media, or direct confirmation from the restaurant) and shows a “Last verified” date. We never copy information from other blogs, and restaurants cannot pay to be listed or to receive a better label.

Read exactly how our labels work in How We Verify, and see our full Disclaimer. Spotted something out of date? Tell us — we re-check reported listings within 72 hours.
