Okonomiyaki — Osaka’s iconic savory pancake — is normally off-limits for Muslim and vegan travelers (pork belly, bonito flakes, lard on the griddle). Chibo, one of Osaka’s most famous okonomiyaki chains, built this dedicated “Diversity” branch in its own Dotonbori building to fix exactly that: dedicated griddles, halal-certified meat, and a fully plant-based vegan okonomiyaki. Note: it runs as a reservation-based course restaurant (¥5,000–10,000), not a casual walk-in spot.
