Opened December 2025 to a 4.5x-oversubscribed preview, Buyu-Den is Umeda’s answer to Tokyo’s halal wagyu ramen shops — with two touches of its own: a dedicated in-store prayer room (the operator calls it a small mosque) and a dedicated vegan ramen set (¥4,000 +tax) alongside the wagyu bowls. The official site states “100% HALAL FOOD”; no certifier is named, so per our rules the label is Muslim-Friendly.

What We Verified

  • “100% HALAL FOOD” and “Prayer Room Available” — stated on the official brand site; the prayer room is also documented in the operator’s launch press release. Checked July 9, 2026.
  • Why not Certified Halal? No certifier is named anywhere official, and we checked the Japan Halal Foundation’s registry directly — not listed. Standard rule applies.
  • Menu confirmed on the official pages — chicken ramen ¥2,000, Buyu-Den/yakiniku ramen ¥3,000, wagyu ramen and premium set ¥4,500, vegan set ¥4,000 (all +tax); wagyu sushi side ¥1,000.
  • Hybrid broth — kombu, seafood, and chicken per the press release (relevant for vegans: the vegan set presumably uses a separate broth — ask, see below).

What We Could Not Confirm

  • Certification (self-declared only).
  • Whether the vegan set’s broth and cooking line are fully separated from the regular kitchen — ask before ordering if strict.
  • Closing days (not published).
  • Prayer room specifics (size, qibla marking).

What to Order

The wagyu ramen (¥4,500 +tax) for the signature experience, or the vegan set (¥4,000 +tax) if you’re plant-based. Book online (ebica) — the phone line is reportedly hard to reach.

A December 2025 Launch

Buyu-Den opened in December 2025, which puts it among the newest listings on this site. The circumstances of its opening — the operator’s launch press release, a preview night that was oversubscribed by more than four times, an in-house prayer room described as a small mosque, a dedicated vegan set alongside the wagyu ramen — signal that this is a shop deliberately built for a specific inbound tourism moment: the wave of Muslim visitors to Osaka that has become a real commercial category since Japan reopened its borders. The label sits at Muslim-Friendly rather than Certified Halal for the usual reason (no verifiable certifier), but the operational investment in the space itself is unusually deliberate. If the shop is still operating well in a year, it will belong on the short list of halal-oriented ramen destinations in Kansai. For now, it’s worth a visit for its novelty and the fact that the operator has clearly thought about the details.
